Factura electrónica y nuevas obligaciones de facturación: VeriFactu

VeriFactu is coming soon and represents a significant change in invoicing management for businesses and the self-employed. To prepare for this new regulation, FEMEVAL's Castelló SME Accelerator Office held an information session to explain its main implications and how to adapt in time. VeriFactu, regulated by Royal Decree 1007/2023, will be mandatory from 2026 and will require invoicing systems with greater traceability, security, and record integrity, including QR codes and digital controls. During the session, the system was explained, including who it affects, implementation deadlines, and the necessary technical requirements, as well as its impact on the day-to-day operations of businesses. This was a key session for understanding the new regulatory framework and preparing in advance for an orderly transition to certified electronic invoicing. The Office would like to thank the Castelló de la Plana City Council for their collaboration and Isabel Tirado Bernat of Tirado y Asociados for her expert contribution. “The SME Acceleration Offices, launched throughout Spain by Red.es, a public entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, have allocated over €29 million in funding for their 2025 call for proposals to promote the digitalization of SMEs, the self-employed, and entrepreneurs. The maximum grant amount is 80% of the eligible budget and is financed by the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the 2021-2027 period.”
