Wow! What a Drink! Plus Our Spa Day - Sea Day on HAL Nieuw Statendam - February 2020

I love sea days because there is so much to do... whatever you want to do! We start out the day in complete relaxation with a spa day! This truly is one of the best ways to chill on a cruise ship and we have fallen in love with the thermal suite experience. But after the warm waters of the spa, we move to the cool waters of the pool. The roof is wide open and the sun is shining... and then all of a sudden it's not. The great thing about a retractable roof is that they just close it when it starts to rain and you can continue to enjoy your day at the pool. Then, when the rain stops, they open it back up. We get dressed for Gala Night aka formal night and head to Ocean Bar for a special drink experience! This is one of the coolest drinks we have ever seen made!!! It is infused with orange and SMOKE! Yes, smoke! The drinks is called a Foggy Boulevardier and is $16 on the menu. Do we like it? Would we recommend you try it? After our drinks, it is dinner time... we have reservations at Canaletto which is the Italian specialty dining restaurant onboard. And since it's Gala Night, that means lobster for all no matter where you dine. The meal was absolutely delicious and we eat until we are stuffed.
