Students will study the fundamental properties of color, including hue, value, and saturation, as well as the principles of color mixing and the distinction between additive color mixing associated with light and subtractive color mixing associated with pigments and materials. The course further focuses on color wheel theory and its various systems, the classification of colors into warm and cool categories, and the psychological and visual effects of color within interior spaces. Finally, students will explore a range of color schemes, such as complementary and analogous color harmonies, with the aim of developing the skills needed to apply color effectively to achieve both aesthetic balance and functional success in interior design.
