Genting SkyWay is a classic mountain cable car (gondola lift) system that connects the lower town area of Gohtong Jaya in Selangor with the highland resort area of Genting Highlands in Pahang. Opened in February 1997, it was at the time one of the most advanced and longest cable-car systems in Southeast Asia. The cable car travels approximately 3.38 km up the mountain, carrying up to 2,000 people per hour at a speed of about 6 m/s, and provides stunning panoramic views of the lush rainforest and highland landscape during the roughly 15-minute ascent to the top.  The Genting SkyWay typically runs daily from about 07:30 AM until around midnight (11:45 PM–11:59 PM) For ticket prices, the official rates (in Malaysian Ringgit, RM) for the Genting SkyWay gondola are generally as follows: a standard one-way ticket is around RM 11, and a return (round-trip) ticket is around RM 19. There are options for standard gondolas with express boarding (one-way ~RM 17, return ~RM 32) which allow quicker boarding during peak times.
