Pazhani Subramania Pillai Birth Centenary - 11th May 2008, Narada Gana Sabha (Edited)

Mridanga Maha Vidwan Pazhani Sri Subramania Pillai's Birth Centenary Celebrations were held on 11th May 2008. This is an edited version of the proceedings. There was a music concert of Vidwan Sri T N Seshagopalan after the function was over. This Concert has been uploaded separately (   • TN Seshagopalan - M Chandrasekharan - Tric...  ). A special postal cover was released on the occasion. Those paying tributes to the Mahavidwan were Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Lalgudi Sri G Jayaraman, Dr. T K Murthy, & Sri R Krishnaswamy, Secretary of Narada Gana Sabha. Sri Lalgudi's address was read out by his daughter Lalgudi Smt Vijayalakshmi. Vidwan Palakkadu Sri R Raghu who was also to have attended & speak about Sri Pazhani could not make it due to indisposition. Sri N Murali, President of Madras Music Academy & Mg Director of "The Hindu" presided. Unfortunately many stalwarts who participated are no longer with us. Vidwan Sri Guruvayur Dorai welcomed the distinguished guests & Vidwan Sri K S Kalidas, Mg Trustee of Sri Pazhani Subramania Pillai Trust, proposed the vote of thanks. 14 years since the event, the misplaced DVD was recovered & has been posted.
