Presentation of the analytical report "Loyalty under coercion" - a study on the persecution of "disloyal" Crimeans for "discrediting" the Russian army Participants: – Alina Grigoras, Head of the Occupied Territories Unit of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine; – Olga Skrypnyk, Chair of the Board of the Crimean Human Rights Group; – Ksenia Kornienko, Senior Lawyer of the Regional Center for Human Rights, co-author of the report; – Volodymyr Vyazovtsev, Lawyer of the Regional Center for Human Rights, co-author of the report. Topics for discussion: – Tools for suppressing dissent and control in the occupied territories; – Legal mechanisms by which the occupier punishes all "disloyal"; – Attempts to legalize Russian power in the TOT Why is this important? During the year, lawyers of the RCHR investigated one of the key tools of suppression of dissent and control in the occupied territories – prosecution under articles of “discrediting” the Russian army in Crimea and Sevastopol. The team processed more than 1.5 thousand court decisions of the occupation institutions and came to the conclusion that the Russian Federation has created a whole system of suppression of freedom of speech and violation of the right to a fair trial in the occupied territories.
