Ana Llorente & Rafael Avanzini | Ballroom Merengue Fusion (Choreography by Ana Llorente)

This show was produced by renowned director Guillermo Cordero, who personally asked me to choreograph a Ballroom-inspired routine fused with the authentic flavor of merengue. Creating this choreography remains one of the proudest and most memorable artistic moments of my career. The performance took place at the Teatro Nacional of Santo Domingo as part of the iconic anniversary production "SOY", honoring the legendary Johnny Ventura, one of the most influential figures in the history of merengue and Dominican music. I am dancing here with Rafael Avanzini, the father of my daughter, Daniela Avanzini. This trip to the Dominican Republic was not only special professionally, but it was also the moment when Rafael and I officially became a couple. It was romantic, unexpected, and truly unforgettable. Looking back, "Soy" stands out as one of the most historic and important productions ever presented at the Teatro Nacional. Being part of it, being a choreographer and a dancer honoring Johnny Ventura’s legacy, and experiencing the warmth of the Dominican Republic will forever remain in my heart. Crear esta coreografía sigue siendo uno de los momentos artísticos más importantes y memorables de mi carrera. La presentación tuvo lugar en el Teatro Nacional de Santo Domingo como parte de la icónica producción aniversario "SOY", en honor al legendario Johnny Ventura, una de las figuras más influyentes en la historia del merengue y de la música dominicana. Estoy bailando aquí con Rafael Avanzini, el padre de mi hija, Daniela Avanzini. Este viaje a la República Dominicana no solo fue especial a nivel profesional, sino que también fue el momento en que Rafael y yo nos convertimos oficialmente en pareja. Fue romántico, inesperado e inolvidable. Mirando hacia atrás, "SOY" se destaca como una de las producciones más históricas e importantes presentadas en el Teatro Nacional. Haber sido parte de ella como coreografa y bailarina, honrar el legado de Johnny Ventura y sentir el cariño de la República Dominicana es algo que siempre llevaré en el corazón.
