(ゲームオーバー) 36:59 Voice Data 🡻 INFORMATION 🡻 Kenichiro Fukui's VIOLENT STORM score is nothing short of legendary. using booming lo-fi sounds, Fukui caters to the notoriously difficult to service KONAMI Hybrid Sound Chip (K054539 and other similar models), crafting a delightfully late 80s/early 90s selection of jams heavily inspired by new jack swing. fans of his incredible Einhänder soundtrack will feel right at home despite the hugely different style, as his funky, stuttering sequencing is on full display throughout. of special note is the incredible amount of voice data here - and not just the ingame sound effects. with tracks like "Who'll be the hero?," "Feel my power," "We are free," and "Nice fight. Congratulations!" featuring actual vocal performances from the humorously credited "VIOLENT STORM'S SPECIAL SINGERS" Jeffrey, Junko, Mayumi i've worked with this soundtrack twice before, originally remastering the grotesquely reverb-heavy version of it found on "KONAMI AMUSEMENT SOUNDS '94... SPRING" and later on releasing a direct emulated sound rip. not happy with either of these, i knew my LINEOUT.LAND needed to do this one some justice. this version still uses emulated audio, but is heavily remastered, carefully redetailing the stereo imaging from its almost comedically wide arcade original, and mastering the soundtrack to Type II (CrO2) tape to warm up the mix a bit. i'm extremely happy to bring you what i believe is the ideal version of this awesome soundtrack. oh, and of course, a huge thank you to Paul Robertson for allowing use of his fanart as the cover. there are some bonus alternative covers in the download using graphics from the game if those are more your speed. thank you, and enjoy!
