Glen Echo's Wurlitzer Band Organ: A 50-Year Perspective by Durward Center

The restorer and caretaker of the organ for the last 50 years talks about the history of the organ at the Park, its modifications, restoration and maintenance. A rear view of the organ’s mechanism is described and shown in operation. Our Carousel 100th Anniversary lecture series was produced in collaboration with Montgomery History. Each lecture lasts from 30-40 minutes, with a Q&A session at the end. This is the third of four lectures produced in the centennial year, and was originally broadcast on July 14, 2021.
