Weaving Using a Rigid Heddle | Making Our Handfasting Crios for a Pagan Wedding

I tried my hand at weaving over the last two weeks and this is my second attempts at making a video on it. I'm using the back-strap method for band weaving with a rigid heddle and shuttle. This is another practice band for our hand-fasting ceremony - I will need a bit more practice before I make a final one which will be used on our wedding day. While the weaving here isn't perfect, and I'm certainly not an expert, I'm very proud of picking this up so fast. The set-up is quite tedious, but once I was sitting down and following the pattern it was very meditative and relaxing. As mentioned in the video a HUGE thanks to everyone who offered advice on weaving! Two videos that helped me immensely on this crafting journey were: Clare Harvest Looms:    • How to weave rigid heddle backstrap for be...   and The Durham Weaver:    • Six Ways to Weave a Crios.   (this one shows the traditional method she learned on the Aran Islands using just hands and a foot to anchor the wool/yarn) I purchased my Heddle and Shuttle from VytuVatu on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/VytuVatu and my wool/yarn at Wooly Castle : https://woollycastle.ie/ Subscribe to keep updated, and you can also find me on Social Media at the links below where you will get live updates and more content!
