The accused, Debashish Das, allegedly posed as the Vice Chairman of the MSME Department and lured people with fake job offers. According to police, Debashish had been operating the racket since 2023 through a fake MSME website. He is also accused of duping victims in Ganjam and Kandhamal districts. Police have seized forged identity cards and fake agreement papers from his possession. One of his associates is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the co-accused.
