Here we have a reel of big band Soundies starting with a Lawrence Welk. Unfortunately these were put together without the titles except for the Welk. 00:00 "They Go Wild (Simply Wild Over Me)" 6-11-45 Lawrence Welk. Wild is a good name for this Soundie filmed at an amusement park, pretty girls all over and bass player Arthur Swanson playing the goof who gets the girls. ha,ha Lawrence fills in at the bass but doesn't play. We see the lady sax player with the band at the time, Venita White. Research says the location was the Pontchartrain Beach Amusement Park in New Orleans. The clown looks to be just a prop people liked to climb in hence a sign not seen here at bottom saying "Keep Off My Face." ha,ha There was a similar clown at the "Laff In the Dark" funhouse. I understand young kids were scared by these clowns especially when teasing older siblings threatened to throw them in probably traumatizing for life.
