Hybrid!: 1970's Twyfords 'Brampton' Close Coupled Double Trap Syphonic Pan w/ 1984 'Astral' Cistern

Well this gorgeous toilet was found in a lovely retro hotel (The one with champagne Armitage Shanks 'Wentworth' toilets in the lobby gents), and I got lucky to get one of these in my room! Interestingly this is a hybrid, with the pan being from the 1970's, however the cistern is a replacement 'Astral' with the indents, from 1984. Quite cool to see the two designs together, as the pan was redesigned slightly when they introduced the indented cistern, most notably it projected out further into the room. It is paired with a gorgeous 'Arcadia' basin also from the 70's. In typical Brampton style it has a brilliant flush, with its aspirator and syphon in good health, I never tire of finding these, just wish more were still about. This bathroom is also a good lesson in sensitive refurbishment, where they've tarted it up with newer tiles and new flooring, keeping the older fixtures.
