QLD Y11-12 Physical Education: Motor Skills
Welcome to our series on motor learning! To kick things off in this video, we're going to take a look at what motor skills are, and talking about how we classify them! While it may seem a bit overwhelming to start with, by the end of the video you'll see how it really is quite easy. *Dot Points:* 1.1.2: Recognise and explain motor learning concepts including: Motor skills — activities that involve voluntary muscular movement to complete a predetermined task Motor programs — a movement plan that contains all the commands for the muscles to execute motor skills 1.1.3: Recognise and explain classifications of motor skills to include: Fine and gross motor skills — as determined by the size of the muscles involved in the movement Open and closed motor skills — as determined by the stability of the environment Discrete, continuous and serial skills — as determined by whether the movement has a specific beginning and ending
