Why this Haryana village is fighting for drinking water | Chanot Village| Beyond the script

A major public protest was witnessed in Chanot village of Hansi district in Haryana over the ongoing drinking water crisis. Villagers staged a massive march against the administration, demanding immediate access to clean and safe drinking water. Residents allege that for a long time, the village has been receiving contaminated and dirty water, causing serious health and daily life problems. Their demand is that a 'T-connection' should be taken from the main pipeline being laid to supply water to Hansi city, so that Chanot village can also be connected to the clean water supply system. Thousands of villagers participated in the protest. The march, supported by around 300 to 400 tractors, started from Chanot village and reached the DC Office in Hansi. The protesters submitted a memorandum to the district administration, demanding the construction of a separate pipeline from the main line and immediate provision of clean drinking water to the village.
