Our live cover of "Float Islands" from Kirby's Dream Land, originally composed by Jun Ishikawa. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley. We're so freakin' astonished by the variety of grooves, sounds, and emotions Ishikawa-san has been able to get out of the early Kirby soundtracks, it's just mind-blowing. Even more mind-blowing is how the stages are represented so well from these soundtracks, given that, thematically, the characteristics of the songs are all so similar. When approaching this arrangement, we wanted to keep the original "floaty" vibes of the stage (which is already so easy if you just play the parts and the melody, since they're written so well!), while finding ways to implement our personal feelings about what the song COULD be - resulting in some of our favorite moments from this session! Pat, Ben, and Jake go in on this one, creating really memorable solos from the jump.
