Dead Goats, Dead Turtles, and Limestones above Lake Mead
I think the limestones are triassic limestone roof pendants of the 13 Ma quartz monzonite Wilson Ridge pluton from way across Lake Mead. I unthinkingly was conflating these two terms: Volcanic Stock: igneous intrusion that has a surface exposure differing from a large batholith in size only. Stock Work: mining term for complex network of closely spaced, interconnected mineralized veins of hydrothermal ore deposits.
