The clutch pedal hangs sporadically, the pressure point is reached late or the pedal doesn't return, and gears can't be shifted. The cause is often a defective clutch master cylinder, possibly also the slave cylinder, or simply air in the clutch line, where the brake fluid serves as a medium for pressure transfer between the pedal and the clutch. The same master cylinder can be found in the Audi A3, Skoda Fabia I & II / Fox / Golf IV, etc., which were also predominantly produced between 2003 and 2010. The replacement part is the A.B.S. master cylinder, clutch 51733 or OE/OEM reference number 1J2721388A. Please always check the replacement part number for your vehicle type in advance!
