Oposición estalla contra Morena por posible regreso de Rocha Moya a gubernatura

The possible return of Rubén Rocha Moya to the governorship sparked a heated debate among legislators. Emilio Álvarez Icaza argued that Rocha should not return, not only because of the extradition request from the United States, but also because of allegations that, he asserted, have gone uninvestigated in Mexico for years. He also accused the Attorney General's Office of fostering impunity and stated that the country faces more serious sovereignty issues, such as disappearances, extortion, and the lack of basic services. Rubén Moreira agreed that Rocha should not return, although he believes he will ultimately do so. He criticized the fact that cases like the murder of Héctor Melesio Cuén remain unsolved and maintained that the government faces problems with economic growth, employment, and debt. He also questioned how the plane linked to the Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada case left the country. In contrast, Israel Zamora argued that, to date, there is no legal impediment to Rocha resuming his position and reiterated that the presumption of innocence must prevail until a verdict is reached.
