Three key moments are necessary for a search for a partner to lead to a successful relationship. Dating apps and modern online dating in general maximize the chances of finding a partner, but sabotage the chances of finding a partner in the second and third moments. Since all three moments are necessary for a relationship to develop, this explains why, for at least two decades, single rates have been rising precisely in the countries where dating apps have exploded in popularity.
