LONGEST TRAM IN THE WORLD?!

June 30, 2026 | Brno, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Forty Škoda ForCity Smart 45T trams formed an extraordinary record-breaking convoy through the streets of Brno. Stretching for an officially measured 2,020 metres, the enormous line of trams entered the Czech Book of Records as the longest convoy of identical trams in the country. All 40 vehicles operated by Dopravní podnik města Brna – fleet numbers 1760 to 1799 – were brought together to celebrate the completion of the largest tram fleet renewal in the history of Brno’s public transport system. 🚋 WHAT YOU WILL SEE The video opens at Pionýrská tram stop, where the entire convoy gradually begins moving towards the city centre. Tram after tram accelerates away from the stop, creating a seemingly endless procession. The complete departure sequence captured from this location lasts approximately eight minutes. The second scene was filmed on the tram line between Medlánky depot and central Brno. It shows the Škoda 45T trams leaving the depot one by one and joining the convoy in fleet-number order, beginning with tram 1760 and continuing towards 1799. Due to the extreme heat, the recording was unfortunately interrupted during the second half of the sequence. A third, closer view from Pionýrská focuses directly on the moving convoy. The long red-and-white “tram snake” can be seen climbing the gentle gradient towards the city centre, with vehicle after vehicle disappearing into the distance. The following section documents preparations for the event, including replacement buses operating for tram routes 1 and 6, movements around Medlánky depot and the gradual formation of the convoy.
