A man in Kaohsiung was walking on a sidewalk in Xiaogang late at night when he unexpectedly lost his footing and fell into a 2-meter-deep sinkhole, suffering extensive abrasions on both feet. The man exclaimed that it was truly unbelievable. The Water Resources Bureau arrived at the scene to investigate and initially determined that the sinkhole was caused by heavy rainfall recently, coupled with the area's sloping terrain, leading to a large amount of surface runoff and subsequent erosion.
