Particularly when they don't usually get as much exposure as many Asian martial arts for instance. Using a shield and parrying stick along with a club is an interesting combination that provides a remarkably solid defense. How do the fighters get past it and attack openings in the opponent's guard? A machete is not only an excellent tool but also a very respectable weapon. In an unarmored duel or self-defense situation with no other defensive implements the main focus needs to be on keeping yourself safe. How do they do it?
