The Lament for Donald of Laggan
Donald of Laggan was born in 1543, and succeeded to Glengarry in 1645. He lived to the age of 102, and died on the day of the Battle of Inverlochy. The tune is a short one, attributed to Patrick Mor MacCrimmon, and is one of the greatest short piobaireachd, once being described by Seumas MacNeill as a "masterpiece in miniature". The illustration is an aerial picture of Laggan.
