Ngara High School. A NELSAP LADP / World Bank/ 80MW Regional Rusumo Hydroelectric / RPCL Project

Local Area Development Projects implemented in Ngara High School by NELSAP on behalf of RPCL and Tanzania are; a) School Electrification b) A New Dormitory for 50 students c) Dining hall for 400 students d) An Administration block. NELSAP LADP project has completed electrification of Ngara High School through a three and a half (3.5) kilometer electricity line and a further half a kilometer connection to structures within the school. With electricity, education performance, and security within the school has improved. The school can now conduct night and early morning studies as well as computer classes and can use electric equipment like photocopy machine to support learning. Ngara High School is in Ngara District, Kagera Region in the northwestern Tanzania near the borders of Rwanda and Burundi. The school was established in 2018 on the site where a refugee camp was previously located. The LADP project is part of extended benefits from the 80MW Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project that is implemented by NELSAP on behalf of the Governments of Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania.
