Seydou Kane, a master instrument-maker working in Dakar, Senegal, makes a traditional goatskin kora from scratch. Koras carry huge cultural and historical significance across West Africa, and the ancient music of the 'griot' Kora masters lies at the root of much Western contemporary popular music today.
