Session 5 The Builder
What if the greatest threat to your marriage isn't conflict—but neglect? In the final session of The Missing Man: The Power of His Presence, we explore Ephesians 5:31–33 and discover that healthy marriages are built, not assumed. Many men think, "I got married." But marriage is not something you finish—it is something you continually build. Just as a house requires maintenance, repairs, and attention, so does a marriage. The reality is that the only age demographic in America where divorce is increasing is adults over 65. Most of those marriages didn't collapse overnight. They drifted apart over decades. In this message, we examine three ways a husband builds oneness with his wife: • Leave – Continually making your marriage the priority relationship in your life. • Weave – Intentionally building connection through conversation, affection, prayer, attentiveness, and shared experiences. • Cleave – Holding fast to your covenant commitment through every season of life. Most importantly, we'll see that oneness is not something a husband manufactures by sheer effort. God is actively at work in marriage, and a present man participates in what God is building. Whether your marriage is thriving or feels more like two roommates sharing a house, this message offers hope. You may not be able to fix everything overnight, but you can become present again. The goal isn't simply to stay married. The goal is to become one.
