Lichen Sclerosus Treatment

Too often the treatment prescribed for lichen sclerosus is the use of steroids. The use of steroids in our plastic surgery practice has shown us that it flattens scars by thinning the tissue. Steroids may initially help with the itching, but over time, it will thin the skin and make the condition worse. Therefore, we tell our patients to stop using steroids. Our unique treatment with platelet rich plasma and fat transfer has been very successful in treating LS.
