A 26-year-old woman named Keerti from Kondrупаdu in Guntur district died by suicide by hanging herself in Mumbai. Keerti had met a young man named Sai, a resident of Ponduru in Tanguturu Mandal, Prakasam district, through social media, and her family claims the two had been in a relationship for eight years. Following her death, her family transported her body to Ponduru and placed it in front of Sai's house, demanding that he fulfill her last wish of tying the wedding knot (thaali) as a symbolic gesture. However, Sai's parents locked their house gate and fled the scene, prompting Keerti's family to break open the gate and stage a protest in front of the house.
