Maggie Smith Dead at 89
Maggie Smith has died. The two-time Academy Award winning actress was best known for her critically acclaimed roles in films such as ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,’ ‘Death on the Nile’ and as Professor McGonagall in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise. Smith also had a successful career in television, including her role as Violet Crawley in the British period drama, ‘Downton Abbey.’ She was 89.
