Due to policies that fail to protect women, at least one woman is murdered almost every day in Turkey. The Platform to Stop Femicide has released data on femicides for the first six months of 2026. According to this data, 150 women were murdered in the first six months, and 151 women died under suspicious circumstances. The report also states that women were murdered in their own homes, where they were confined, by the men closest to them. Why are femicides increasing every year?
