The sample on the video is taken on board a bulk carrier on a tramping route where there is always new ports of call on every voyage. And one of the first information that we have to find when given a new voyage instructions is to find the distance to the next port or ports to be able to calculate the travel time and determine the ETA and most importantly to determine the fuel consumption to ascertain the sufficiency of the fuel to safely complete the voyage.
