Fishing cormorants in early spring can be great fun and the cormorant fly imitates so many different food sources for the trout duck as fry, buzzers and small nymphs. Fish them on anything from a full floating line to a fast sinking line for best results. I find fishing them slowly with a figure of eight rather than pulling them to be most effective but depending on the conditions they can be pulled quickly.
