The 10 Most Dangerous Places in Michigan

In this video, I break down the 10 most dangerous cities in Michigan, ranked using violent crime and property crime rates per 100,000 residents. A lot of these cities didn’t just wake up one day and decide to be dangerous. They were hit by factory closures, population loss, shrinking tax bases, and decades of bad decisions — and crime followed right behind. Some were once booming industrial towns. Others are small places with big problems. A few will surprise you. A few will make you say, “Yeah… that tracks.” I also explain why crime rates can look insane in smaller cities, why I still use the per-100,000 metric (yes, even when the population is under 10,000), and why a shiny downtown doesn’t automatically mean a full city comeback.
