These 4 and 5 cylinder motors were found in the Colorado, Canyon, Hummer H3 and even the Isuzu I-series while third big brother the Atlas 4200 4.2 i6 was found in the Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada, and even in the Saab 9-7x. Why is it we don't see as many failures in the I6 as we do the I4 and I5? What power can we expect out of the 4 and 5 cyl now that we're seeing 800+whp out of the 4.2l? I've rebuilt a bunch of these motors and have a very clear cause of failure I want to share with you guys.
