In this video, I invite you on a walk across Abidjan's 4th Bridge, a structure that connects the municipalities of Yopougon and Adjamé by spanning Banco Bay. Built to improve traffic flow between the two banks, this bridge is now one of the major infrastructures of Ivory Coast's economic capital. Throughout this tour, you'll discover its wide roadways, its imposing concrete pillars, and the views it offers of the surrounding neighborhoods. Beyond the structure itself, this walk also allows you to observe the daily life that has developed around the bridge. Under some of the spans and near the access points, you can see trash, the recycling of jerrycans, and various small informal businesses. During this visit, I also noticed a few motorcycles sometimes driving the wrong way, as well as a barely visible security presence. The pedestrian crossing remains usable, but its relatively narrow width can sometimes make crossings less comfortable. This video simply shows what you can observe on site, between the development of modern infrastructure and the realities on the ground. Near some sections of the bridge, you'll notice waste accumulation, informal recycling activities and local businesses operating nearby. I also observed occasional motorcycles riding against traffic and very little visible security during my visit. While the pedestrian walkway is fully accessible, its relatively narrow width may feel uncomfortable for some pedestrians.
