President Trump also reiterated his claim that the United States must control Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark and a NATO ally. While NATO has set out to appease the U.S. by strengthening its defense capabilities, tensions within the transatlantic alliance appear to be escalating as President Trump reaffirmed his intention to incorporate Greenland.
