A genius of a lyricist, a versatile Film Director, and Producer in the Malayalam film industry , Sreekumaran Thampi is widely known as "Hrudaya Ragangalude Kavi" (Poet of Love) was introduced to the Malayalam film industry by P. Subramaniam as a lyricist in the film "Kaattumallika". He holds the unique record of having produced 23 films, directed 30, and written scripts for 80 films, produced and directed 7 Television serials in Malayalam, besides writing thousands of super hit film songs..Published four novels, , and released a collection of poems Engineerayuday Veena, Kaviyum Maalakhamarum, Neelathaamara, En Makan Karayumpol , Sheershakamillatha Kavithakal, Achante Chumbanam , Ammakkoru Tharaattu and Puthralabham. His collection of selected songs titled 'Hridaya Sarassu' has gone to three editions in two years.
