I'd like to drive along the Nakatsugawa River in my Levorg, recounting the history of Nakatsugawa during its heyday and showcasing the remnants of that era. Nakatsugawa Station was connected to the Kita-Ena Railway and the Honshu Paper Company's private line, and people and goods were concentrated around the station to an extent incomparable to today. The Kita-Ena Railway transported timber from Urakiso to Nakatsugawa Station, and timber transported by the Enasan Forest Railway arrived at Nakatsugawa Station via the Honshu Paper Company's private line. What was truly unique was that two private railway lines, each related to "wood," ran to the north and south of the station.
