Archived video. UWW 2024 World Grappling Championship. This was my first experience competing at a world championship. In this bout, I faced a very strong opponent – ​​Rakhmatulla Abdujalilov, who would eventually become world champion. Even then, it was clear that the level of the competitors there was very high. But my main conclusion from this tournament wasn't technical, but psychological. After a few victories, I began to understand the competition system. Something was unclear, and instead of fully focusing on the next bout, some of my attention was diverted to thinking about the tournament bracket. That's when I realized something important: During a competition, you shouldn't try to figure everything out. Until the tournament is over, there's only one goal – to go out and fight. It doesn't matter what the system is, who your next opponent is, or what's happening in the bracket. All of this can be calmly analyzed after the competition. This experience taught me a lot. At subsequent tournaments, I wasn't distracted by such things and maintained my concentration until the very last fight.
