The day I opened an automotive time capsule! The legendary Volkswagen car collection that was locked in a dealership in Estrela, Rio Grande do Sul, closed since 2001, was finally rescued in May 2025. And today, I'm going to tell you this story. I confess that I am still processing everything I experienced in this rescue. Even without having a direct link with the family, I felt part of that moment, mainly because it involved one of the most important chapters of national and world motorsport. Among the rarities discovered were two twin Itamar Gold Series 0 km Beetles, hidden behind a welded iron door inside the dealership. In addition to them, a 1986 Last Series Beetle, number 625, one of the 850 delivered to VW dealerships at the time, still 0 km. We also find a 1996 Santana Quantum Evidence 0 km and a 1975 VW SP2, customized from the time. The list of cars is impressive, but I assure you that the history and details behind this rescue are even more striking.
