Bardon Hill Quarry Level Crossing (Leicestershire) Monday 17.02.2020

No timetable for this crossing, (Useful Information for people who want to film at this crossing in the future) this video was filmed at 16:19, and the train that this formed arrived from Neasden depot GBRF at 14:27. About an hour or 2 after a train has arrived from said place at Bardon Hill GBRF, a shunter will meet the cargo there. Today this shunter that pushed the cargo into the quarry was sat there all day or weekend, I could tell because of the enormous clag it gave off when it was started which I could actually smell from this crossing a good mile away from where the shunter was. A Class 66 will then push the load up the steep hill from Bardon Hill GBRF and leave it just before this crossing outside the Quarry. A couple of Shunter drivers will then walk to the shunter parked up at Bardon Hill GBRF, one of them will walk back, activate the crossing and use his radio to inform the shunter driver that it is safe to move into the quarry, I wasn’t there to see what happened to the other half of the load that was left outside the quarry.
