During Oerol 2026 on Terschelling, we engaged in conversation with festival visitors about God, truth, reincarnation, heaven and hell, and the question that ultimately matters to every human being: what do you do with Jesus Christ? Many people say: “If you are a good person, won’t you go to heaven?” But the Bible teaches that no one can save themselves through good works. We are all guilty before God and need atonement. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 God is not only loving, but also just. Therefore, the gospel is not a message that everything will work out on its own, but a call to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Through Him, forgiveness, atonement, and new life are possible. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 We hope these conversations will make you think.
