A search for a place to sleep brought us to Lazydays and Nicky. What a friendly and helpful person! The camping area in town was clean and comfortable at a very reasonable price. Nicky advised us to take the shortcut via Engcobo to the N2 as this is tarred and in good condition. It was worth the drive. Scenic and easy to drive. The rural villages had some free roaming animals next to the road that slowed down the speed. The Barkly Pass was busy and with some roadworks but no issues. The temperature soared as we went down and reached 38ºC at Kei Bridge. We turned left at Chintza and reached Yellow Sands.
