US 52 from Fancy Gap, Virginia to Mount Airy & Winston Salem, North Carolina, 4K Drive

This drive takes you the 'back way' from Virginia into North Carolina, down from the top of the Blue Ridge on US Highway 52. The drive starts at Fancy Gap, Virginia, and follows US 52 southbound to Mount Airy, and then on to Winston Salem, where the tiny two-lane road turns into the future Interstate 74 and heads into the city. Near the end, I ended up on Interstate 40 eastbound to the east side of town. I made this trip around Labor Day 2021.
