SKIN DEEP were originally formed in the summer of 1983 in their native West Lothian and regularly gigged in and around Falkirk, Bathgate and Stenhousemuir, often playing with local punk band Possessed Images, The "Football Violence" EP was released in 1985 on the Enemy Records label (ENEMY 1) but poor distribution meant it was one of the hardest Oi! records to get hold of. The band broke up in 1986 when some of the members had to leave the area in search of work. Tragically bassist Ritchie was killed in a motorbike accident in 1991 whilst vocalist Jacob died of a brain tumour in 1994. (Mark Brennan - Oi! The Rarities Vol.3 liner notes.)
