Ajantha Mendis put up a remarkable performance in the Asia Cup Final of 2008 between Sri Lanka and India. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a total of 273 in their allotted 50 overs. When India came out to chase, they were confident of chasing down the target, However, Ajantha Mendis had other plans.Mendis, a relatively unknown spinner at the time, completely bamboozled the Indian batsmen with his unorthodox spin bowling. He picked up wickets at regular intervals and completely turned the match in Sri Lanka's favor.
