A prosecutor surnamed Lin from the Keelung District Prosecutors Office has been exposed for colluding with a hotel owner to lend money at exorbitant interest rates to loan sharks, raking in a whopping NT$43 million over four years. He not only employed his wife and a female confidante as fronts to launder the money, but also staged a "fake divorce" with his wife to evade asset declaration. When the loan sharks couldn't repay the interest, he, in his capacity as prosecutor, coerced them into signing debt repayment contracts. Today (the 23rd), the Keelung District Prosecutors Office concluded its investigation and indicted him.
