How to check a car battery with a multimeter | Bad battery vs Good battery comparison

In this video you will learn how to check a car battery with the help of a multi-meter plus the difference between a good and bad battery according to multi-meter reading.To check the battery you need to set the multi-meter to 20 volt dc, then connect the multi-meter probes to the battery +ve and -ve terminals respectively. If the battery is giving voltage above 12 volt then the battery is good , but better if its giving 12.4 to 12.6 , if the battery voltage is around 11 volt then the battery needs charging and if its down around 10 volt then its most likely deep discharged. Battery having 12 + volts doesn't means its all good , you need to put the battery under load (ex- while cranking ) and then check its voltage drop to check if your battery is good or bad . while cranking if the voltage drop around 10-11 + volt then the battery is good but if the voltage drop below 10 volt then the battery might need charging and if voltage drops below say around 5-6 volt then the battery is most likely dead and you need a new battery .
