Port McDonnell is the southernmost town in South Australia which describes itself as the Southern Rock Lobster Capital. Port Macdonnell is located About 28 kms South of Mount Gambier and 466 South East of Adelaide. It is surrounded by dramatic coastline and attractive parklands. Visitors come to the town to enjoy the exeptional lobsters which are caught by the local fleet and to walk to the coastline. Port Macdonnell was named after Sir Richard Graves Macdonnell who was the Governer of South Australia from 1855-1862. The town officially become a port on 4 April 1860. Prior to Europian Settlement the area was the home to the Bungandij Aboriginies who lived largely on the produce from the sea. Feast's Private Classic Car Collection and Memorabilia is a popular attraction for vintage car enthusiasts visiting South Australia. More than vintage cars, this museum also house a number of quirky and unconventional attractions but it's definitely worth a visit. Located close to the coastal town of Port Macdonnell the private museum was established by Donald and Sheila Feast, both of whom admit to having a fascination with cars and history. In the beginning they only had a few cars on display. Today Visitors will be enthralled to see that one of Australia's best and biggest collection of Vintage cars. This Museum is must visit place and personally I thank Don and Sheila for their wonderful work and being a great host. Ewens Ponds is a series of fresh water-filled limestone sinkholes in the Australian state of South Australia located in the gazetted locality of Eight Mile Creek, on the watercourse of Eight Mile Creek about 25 Kilometres south of Mount Gambier and 8.4 Kilometres of Port Macdonnell. In this Vlog you will also wittness some of the shorebirds nesting on the cliffs along the coast near Port Macdonnell. Ship rock and Camel rocks also the highlights along with light house and the sky view of the coastal road.
